Dr. Ramakrushna Panigrahi is an Associate Professor at IMI, Bhubaneswar. His teaching interest includes Managerial Economics, Macroeconomic Theory and Policies, Geopolitical environment and International Finance. In addition to teaching, Dr. Panigrahi is an active researcher in the area economics; particularly in development economics. He has published a number of research papers in refereed journals of high repute like Journal of International Development and Journal of Human Development. Dr. Panigrahi has over fourteen years of teaching, research and consulting experience in the area of economics and development economics. Prior to his assignment at IMI, Bhubaneswar, he has worked with MATS Institute of Management And Entrepreneurship, Bangalore; ICFAI Business School, Bangalore; Chemols Infotech Private Limited, Bangalore and Foundation to Aid Industrial Recovery, Bangalore.

  • Foundation to Aid Industrial Recovery, Bangalore (November 1998 - August 2000).
  • Five and half years of research experience in Development studies.  Mainly working on Human Development Indices, Development Indicators; Environmental concerns in joint forest management; environmental management and Rural Micro-Finance.
  • One year of experience of evaluating the NGO programmes at Foundation to Aid Industrial Recovery Specialized in Pre Finance Evaluations (PFE) of proposed NGO projects.  Mainly done for ICCO. (Served as Research Officer at FAIR from November 1998- July 2000).
  • Served as a consultant to CPRC, IIPA, New Delhi and University of Manchester UK and published commissioned papers for these research agencies sponsored by DFID and UNDP.
  • Served as Academic Referee for the journals titled The Journal of Human Development, Journal of Poverty and Social Justice, International Journal of Sociology and Anthropology, African Journal of Agricultural Research.
