Programme Structure

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE

The FPM programme is offered in the following two modes:

Residential programme
Non-residential programme

Students enrolled in the Residential Programme are required to be physically present on campus and are paid a stipend throughout the four-year duration of the programme. Students admitted under the Non-Residential Programme may complete the requirements in a hybrid mode.
The programme is structured into two phases. The first phase, spanning one year, involves completion of prescribed coursework. Upon successful completion of coursework, scholars are required to appear for a Comprehensive Examination (CE) and deliver a research seminar.
The second phase focuses on doctoral research leading to the thesis. During this phase, scholars are expected to develop and submit a thesis proposal, undertake research based on the approved proposal under the guidance of a faculty supervisor, and finally defend the thesis before the Research Committee. Successful completion of these requirements leads to the award of the FPM degree.
