Very early in the existence of IMI Bhubaneswar thought leaders realized that research plays an important
role in building a stimulating & learning environment. Therefore, since inception the faculty members have

been encouraged to do quality research work for the benefit of the discipline, institute and fraternity. The
institute emphasized upon research through following activities, which are enshrined into its culture –

Provides financial incentives for research outputs.

Offers research grant of Rs. 1 lakh for research projects.

Facilitates the process of research funding for faculty from external sources.

Encourages faculty to participate in national and international workshops and conferences.

Established a fund for faculty academic development.

Conduct Monthly Faculty Research Seminar.

Faculty offers Online Research FDP for the benefit of academic fraternity.

Offers documented categorization of research journals for the benefit of faculty members.

As a result of these concerted efforts, the faculty members have to their credit more than 370 research
papers, articles, paper presentation both nationally and internationally, and 17 workshops/roundtables
since the inception of the institution. Faculty members at IMI Bhubaneswar produce over 50 different types
of research papers, articles, paper presentations both nationally and internationally every year. Prominent
amongst them are Journal Articles, Books, chapters in books, case studies etc. The faculty members have
written many award-winning case studies, which are now featured in case repositories
across the globe. The average research output of IMI Bhubaneswar faculty is
more than 3.0 research outputs per year, which is considered high in the
academic world.
