Effective School Management & Leadership Programme

A week long Management Development Programme on ‘Leadership for Effective School Management’was organized at International Management Institute (IMI), Bhubaneswar in collaboration with the Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE) for the Principals of the CBSE affiliated schools in Eastern India region. The programme was inaugurated by Mrs. Usha Padhee, IAS, Secretary to Govt., Secondary Education and presided by Prof. Ramesh Behl, Director, IMI, Bhubaneswar. Mrs. Padhee explained the progress being made in all direction in Odisha and specifically in the education sector. While emphasizing the importance of training, she expressed her strong desire for training of various Govt. functionaries in education sector. Mr. A.S. Verma, Regional Director, CBSE graced the occasion as Guest of Honour andProf. Arun Kumar Rath gave the key note address. Prof. Irfan Rizvi, Prof. U.K. Dash and Dr. Bijay Kumar Sahoo, Director, Sai International School delivered their talks on the topic in various sessions.

In the valedictory session Mr. Vineet Joshi, Chairman, CBSE and Dr. Sadhana Parasher, CBSE Director-Training & Research addressed the participants and talked about the need of effective management in the secondary schools in the present context. Mr. Joshi promised to continue such programmes in future. He emphasized on the process of rating of CBSE Schools on various parameters. The programme was coordinated both by Prof. Arun Kumar Rath and Prof. Shailendra Nigam of the institute. 28 participants from Chhattisgarh, West Bengal & Odisha participated in the programme.
