Amit  Sareen

Over 31 years experience in Industry and Academics. Industry experience includes working in India and United States with leading Information Technology and Telecom firms like Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Aircel. Worked in the areas of Business Relationship Management, Program Management, Operations, Organization Change Management, Talent Acquisition, Academic Interface Development and Account Management. Led national and international accreditation exercises and has been a member of international peer review teams.

Currently working as Director of IMI Bhubaneswar. Earlier worked as Director at Institute of Management Technology (IMT) Dubai, Dean (Academics) at IMT Ghaziabad, Dean (Accreditations, Rankings & QA) at IMT Ghaziabad and as Director & Professor at a leading Business School in New Delhi. As Dean (Academics) at IMT Ghaziabad, Dr Sareen was responsible for Program Delivery, Student engagement & Examinations processes. He was also responsible for Curriculum Review Process & Offering of New Electives across Programs, Program Budgets, Managing the entire faculty recruitment, selection, engagement, training and appraisal process. He Led the Program Architecture review of the 3 key Programs: PGDM Executive, PGDM Part-Time and FPM. He has also taken regular courses on Strategic Management and his key research area includes innovation and network relationships in knowledge based service industries. As Dean (Accreditations, Rankings & QA) at IMT Ghaziabad, Dr Sareen was responsible for leading AACSB, AMBA & EQUIS Accreditations at International level as well as NBA & AIU Accreditations at National Level. He was also responsible for QA processes, National and International Rankings at IMT Ghaziabad. He was also responsible for developing international partnerships and joint programs with business schools in US & Europe. Dr Sareen has also regularly taught courses in the area of Strategic Management and his key research area includes innovation and network relationships in knowledge based service industries.

In the year 2000 the Indian IT Industry was just taking off and General Electric Company (GE) was the biggest client of TCS. The GE relationship was headed by Mr N. Chandra (currently Chairman Tata Sons) and Dr Sareen was a part of his team and was given the crucial role of managing the GE Corporate relationship at their HQ in Fairfield, Connecticut, US. GE at that time was ranked the most admired company in US by Fortune Magazine (for the third consecutive time). Dr Sareen had the opportunity to meet the legendary GE CEO Jack Welch and work with the GE IT Leadership team. Later he was given the crucial role of managing The Bank of New York (BNY) relationship at the TCS Wall Street, New York office. BNY was a leading bank and offered investment management, asset servicing, treasury, wealth management, and market solutions for institutions, corporations, and individuals, essentially acting as a custodian bank. TCS successfully implemented a high profile securities custody solution at BNY.
Later Dr Sareen also worked on development of academic relationship with the State University of New York (S.U.N.Y.) Interacted with the President, Provost and Senior Faculty of the State University of New York for developing academic relations between the University and TCS. Worked on behalf of TCS with Senator Hillary Clinton and opened and established a new office & training centre in New York State for TCS.
Dr Sareen was also selected for a 2 weeks residential Leadership Program in 2008 at Tata Management Training Centre, Pune. Only a select few top performers across all Tata Group companies are selected for this Program. The Trainers are mainly CEOs, COOs and HR Heads from various Tata Group Companies.
