First Week at IMI-Bhubaneswar

It was a year back, I decided to join a good B-School to pursue my post-graduation and my dream came true on 10th June 2015 the day I joined IMI-Bhubaneswar. I was completely impressed by the hospitality shown by the institute towards me and parents how were accompanying me.

Being from a completely different educational background, I had a sense of fear whether I could cope up with entirely different subjects. It was during the orientation week which ended all my senses of discomfort and apprehensions. We were given a brief introduction about what MBA is all about which gave me confidence that I can do well and perform at par with students of relevant education background.

We were taught by faculty who were highly qualified and who brought in with them immense experience and taught us from their experiences. The lessons were much valuable than those in any of the books. Apart from our faculty members we are given experience towards many guest lectures which were not only helpful for our academic life but also throughout the walk of our life.

The hostel life at IMI is much better than what was showcased in the Life at IMI videos. Being in hostels from the past 6 years, I could clearly sense the difference of life here. It gave me new friends, new habits and the cooperation we get from the seniors was truly remarkable. It perfectly suits for the saying “Home away from Home”. But the only thing that made me remember of the home was the food here. Being a typical South Indian, the food here made me literally cry.

On a whole, the first week at IMI ended with a positive note and hope the same continues through these two years.
