International Management Institute (IMI) Bhubaneswar and Vedanta Limited, Jharsuguda signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for “Work Integrated Learning Program” (WILP). The MOU was signed by Prof. Ramesh Behl, Director, IMI Bhubaneswar; Mr. Abhijit Pati, CEO, Aluminium & Power, Vedanta Ltd; and Mr. Dilip Sahoo, Head, Business HR, Aluminium & Power Vedanta Ltd. on behalf of their respective organizations. Mr. Shakti Vel of Vedanta Ltd., faculty members from IMI Bhubaneswar and other dignitaries were present during the occasion. The program is meant for the employees of Vedanta Limited and is aimed at providing them an opportunity to pursue higher education in business management while simultaneously performing their job responsibilities. A batch of sixty students from among the applicant employees was selected based on rigorous screening process. The average experience of the participating executives is 10 years and are selected from cross-functional areas. During the program inauguration, Prof. Ramesh Behl emphasized upon the intellectual capital of IMI Bhubaneswar and enlightened the participants regarding value addition possibilities from the course. Mr. Abhijit Pati encouraged the participants to focus on the application-orientation of the course and maximize the benefit to their profile through this course. The signing of MOU was followed by the Orientation Program for the newly joined applicants. The participants were offered sessions by faculty from IMI Bhubaneswar on interpersonal relations, economic environment, decision-making, time management and case-study evaluation. The orientation program was concluded with team-building activities for the participating executives. The landmark agreement between IMI Bhubaneswar and Vedanta Ltd. was widely appreciated for bringing management education to the doorsteps of working executives from Vedanta Ltd. With the signing of this MOU, IMI Bhubaneswar has become the knowledge partner of Vedanta Ltd. for offering short-term and long-term programs in the field of management.
