Inauguration of EV Community Station

Bhubaneswar, January 16, 2024: In a major step towards sustainable transportation, the International Management Institute (IMI) Bhubaneswar today inaugurated an Electric Vehicle (EV) community station on its campus in collaboration with Let's driEV. The EV station was officially launched by Professor Ramesh Behl, esteemed Director of IMI Bhubaneswar in the presence of other senior officials and student representatives. In his inaugural address, the Director spoke about IMI's commitment to implementing green initiatives and building a sustainable campus. He lauded the tie-up with Let's driEV as a pioneering effort to enable clean mobility solutions for the institute's community. The Director took a tour of the EV station and encouraged everyone to register on the portal and actively use the facility. The unique EV community station offers dedicated parking, charging and swapping infrastructure exclusively for IMI students, faculty and staff. By registering on their website, they can easily rent EVs on an hourly, daily or long-term basis at nominal charges. This will promote wider adoption of electric vehicles and significantly reduce the institute's carbon footprint. Speaking on the occasion, the representatives from Let's driEV highlighted the environmental and economic benefits of using electric vehicles, especially for short commutes. They outlined various offerings like e-cycles, e-bikes and e-scooters that can now be rented by the IMI community at their doorstep on a pay-per-use model. The inauguration was attended by heads of all departments, student council leaders and campus residents. They welcomed the development and looked forward to utilizing the facility to commute in a green and cost-effective way. Going forward, IMI plans to install solar panels and add more charging points to transform into a future-ready smart campus.
