My first experience at IMI, Bhubaneswar

"Experience is what you get when you didn't get what you wanted.” My first day at IMI Bhubaneswar was certainly the experience that I have never experienced before. It is one of the most greatest and overwhelming experience. My first learning in this college was that it’s not just about grades and placement but becoming a good human being. It is about finding yourself, who you are as a person and the kind of person you want to be. From that moment all my anxiety and reservations vanished.

Throughout the orientation week we had a lot of sessions but the most memorable one for me is the ice breaking session. By the end of the session, not only I got to know the name of everyone from my batch but was aware of their professional and personal background. There was another activity where we were all blind folded and given a rope. Our task was to create a square without touching each other. The purpose of this session was to help us realize the importance of teamwork and trust among each other. What amused me was the learning process at IMI Bhubaneswar is very innovative and creative. New methods are adapted to make classroom session interesting. The result of all these sessions was clearly seen at the end of the day. The bonding of the whole batch PGDM 14-16 had started over the meals. The upcoming cultural program which was to be organized and performed by us just made the bonding stronger. The hostel life added the required charm to the budding friendship. On the last day of the orientation program, our seniors arranged all sort of activities for us like games and quiz. The highlight of the day was the interaction and fun that we had with them. Apart from that all the faculty members have been very kind with their words as well as gestures from the day one.

Initially I was very sceptical before coming here but after meeting all the fascinating people and the wonderful experience of my first week. I feel more motivated. It’s just a beginning of a beautiful journey.
