Student, PGDM 2014-16

I always wanted to do an MBA. With high hopes and excitement I reached IMI Bhubaneswar, and upon reaching the gates of IMI Bhubaneswar my heart was filled with joy. I was very much moved by the architecture of the institute, so modern and lively, reflecting the values and tradition of contemporary Odisha. The pathway leads though lawns and gardens. Being an avid nature lover I connected myself to the campus very easily. I could envision myself having an early jog in the morning and in near future.

After enjoying all the natural beauty on the offering I finally reached my hostel. I arrived little earlier, so I had the privilege of choosing a suitable room for myself. The rooms are very well designed, furnished and very neat & clean, I liked it instantly. Gradually the other boarders started coming and I got a chance to interact with them.

Next day was the first day of my induction program.

The events started with a spectacular and inspirational speech from the Director. Then we got to know about all the faculty members their areas of interest etc.

To make us familiar with each other the institute had arranged an Icebreaking Session. It worked very well and through games we quickly bonded with each other. The student to teacher ratio is very healthy. The teachers were very open and friendly, full of ideas and with a lots of energy. The institute believes in creating leaders who are sensible, competent and ready to take on any challenges that come on their path. It believes in the holistic development of the students, so we were encouraged to participate in various activities like sports, quizzes, drama etc.

I with my colleagues prepared a skit within a very short notice and it went very well with the audience.

The diversity of students was very good and there were people from almost all the states of India.

There were both experienced and fresher’s from backgrounds like Commerce, Engineering, Business Administration and even Arts. So the student pool was very rich and diverse, everybody had something new to offer.

I have started my journey, I have an endeavor and now I have the right tools to achieve it.

I am all set to make the most out of my two years stay at IMI Bhubaneswar.
