Republic Day Celebrations

On January 26, 1950, the Constitution of India was signed and India was declared a republic. It’s a day, which every Indian is proud of. With the same pride the 66th Republic Day of India was celebrated on January 26, 2015, at IMI Bhubaneswar, by its faculty, staff and students.

The event started with the ceremony of hoisting the Indian National Flag by Prof. Ramesh Behl, Director (IMI Bhubaneswar). After the ceremony, Director sir addressed the students and reminded everyone of the responsibilities they have on their shoulders to make the country proud, even with small actions.

After a small tea break, parallel matches of cricket and throw ball were played by the students and faculty of IMI Bhubaneswar. Indoor activities such as indoor games like Tambola were also played during the afternoon. Overall the college celebrated the Republic Day with full zeal and enthusiasm.

It was also on this day that some of its students, of batch PGDM 2013-15, were awarded merit scholarships for their outstanding cumulative academic performance at the end of their first year.

The first rank holder of the batch was K.V. Saroj Reddy, who won the scholarship of Rs. 40,000/-. The second rank was held by Pratik Kumar Rath, who won the scholarship of Rs. 30,000/-. The third rank was shared by Punyatoya Panigrahi and Kriti Kumar, winning Rs. 10,000/- each for scholarship.

These achievements are, however, just the preamble of the things that each student would strive to achieve in their life.
