Internships are exposures to the corporate world that a MBA graduate can get during the period of MBA. This exposure helps the student to apply their classrooms learning in corporate world. This is the place where we have the first-hand experience of the competitiveness of corporate world which makes us ready to enhance our organizational learning. But due to Covid-19, companies had to conduct work from home internships.
I joined Executive B school, a startup in the field of online education. It has a link with top B schools in India and it provides online MBA to working executives who due to many reasons cannot leave their jobs but at the same time want to cope with the fast changing corporate environment by upgrading their knowledge. Working with this organization provided insight into their business strategies as well as hands on knowledge of dealing with customers. My industrial mentor is very supportive and makes the learning process a lot easier and interesting.
While working with this organization I am gaining a lot of incites about sales and marketing. Every day is challenging, and it brings a new learning with it. These challenges and brainstorming along with the constant support of my mentor has made this internship journey a great learning experience which is bound to benefit me in future. My learnings in my internship have made me self-reliant and I will be able to tackle the changing scenario head-on. As this post- COVID world will demand a lot more on-spot decision making and the earlier scenarios might not work, this knowledge will help me succeed in the changed scenario.
