Alumni Interaction

On 27th of September 2020, we had an alumni interaction which was presided by Mr. Deepanjan Dutta who belonged to IMI Bhubaneswar’s PGDM batch of 2015-2017 and is now working as a Senior Analyst in Internal Audit at Lowe’s India, Bengaluru.

Mr. Deepanjan kick-started the meet by sharing his enriched experience at IMI, Bhubaneswar. He also talked about the significance of overall development of an individual while pursuing the PGDM programme. It’s not about just focusing on the grades but also developing good corporate interactions and improving one’s personality. Creating a good networking relationship and having a good alumni connection is important to get referrals from the alumni base and thus obtaining job opportunities.

Mr. Deepanjan also talked about the transition phase that one experiences while shifting from college to corporates. He said that learning never stops and one should always approach his/her job with an open mind. Last but not the least, it was discussed how the present pandemic scenario is somehow unfavorable and it was advised that we, as students, should be flexible regarding profile selection.

It was a very enlightening session with a good amount of engagement and the students learnt a lot of effective measures which they could surely apply.
