Diwali Celebrations

 

Diwali is one of the most colorful and sacred festivals of the Hindus. It is celebrated every year with great joy and enthusiasm throughout the length and breadth of the country. The festival of Diwali marks the happy return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya after fourteen year’s exile. This year it was celebrated on 30th October.

Student’s presence being quite low on campus, due to holidays, still the festivity never lost its sparkle and glow. The celebration went on as enthusiastically as it was meant to be. Lakshmi Puja was started at 7:30 PM, which was organized by the Cultural Committee members commenced in presence of Professor Santanu Das who encouraged the students to have clean and safe Diwali. After the puja, the holy Prasad of goddess Lakshmi was distributed among the students and the staff members.

After the puja, the students lit the candles & lamps in and around the hostel premises with a true spirit that it will enlighten our lives, followed by blowing up some crackers. The day ended with a ceremonial dinner and a lot of memories to be shared for a lifetime.
