Ganesh Chaturthi

India being the country of numerous festivals and celebrations, Ganesh Chaturthi is one of them which we celebrate with great joy and devotion. Though it’s a homely affair for Maharashtra, nowadays it gets celebrated in most of the states of India. In IMI Bhubaneswar, we also celebrate this auspicious day by inviting Bappa to our second home, which is the campus itself. On 19th Sept, around 9 am celebration started when we all wore the traditional clothes and came together for the puja rituals. As Lord Ganesha is regarded as the God of positive and new beginnings, all the staff members and students came together to pray for the same.

All the students offered flowers, fruits and sweets to Lord Ganesha while praying for their wellbeing. The day was filled with excitement because of the happiness of the students, the aroma of the modaks and laddoos and the chant of the mantras. In an mba college we get to learn about networking and connecting with people but these celebrations just bring people together irrespective of their religion, caste and creeds especially when it’s celebrated in a college set-up. While being so caught-up in our busy schedules, this extravaganza gave all of us a breather and happiness at the same time. After celebrating the whole day, in the evening aarti took place and everyone gathered again to take part in the aarti. This festival brought hope and prosperity for the IMI family and boosted us to keep going by keeping our positivity inside.
