INDEPENDENCE DAY

India achieved its Independence from British colonial rule on 15th August 1947. This year, India is celebrating the 75th year of independence. This day reminds us of all the sacrifices that were made by our freedom fighters to set India free from the British rule. Every year, Indians celebrate Independence Day with utter joy, enthusiasm, and pleasure to invoke patriotism among the citizens. In IMI Bhubaneswar, Independence Day is marked with the hoisting of the National flag. After two years of the pandemic, IMI Bhubaneswar campus was decorated with flags and flowers and all students participated in the flag hoisting ceremony by the Director of IMI Bhubaneswar Prof. Ramesh Behl. Owing to the tradition at IMI Bhubaneswar, Post the flag hoisting, some special awards were bestowed on the rank holders of the senior batch as a token of appreciation. The flag hoisting event was followed by a march past which was done by the students and then both the junior and senior batches planted their own batch tree which is also a tradition of our Institute. The cultural committee organized a cultural event in which the group dance, Odissi dance, solo singing, drama on corruption, and slogan were performed. After the cultural event the sports committee organized a cricket match between students and the faculty members. The day ended with a special lunch organized by our director. The mass participation by the students and faculty of IMI- Bhubaneswar made the day very special.
