INDIA IS ON THE MOON

August 23, 2023, is a historic day for India’s space sector for the remarkable success of the Chandrayana-3 lunar mission. It was launched on July 14 on board the launch vehicle MARK-III (LVM-3) rocket from Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.

The whole nation was delighted with the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3's mission of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on the unexplored south pole of the moon on August 23, 2023, at approximately 6.04 p.m. IST.

Chandrayaan-3 consists of the propulsion module, which carries the lander VIKRAM and rover PRAGYAN from an injection orbit to a 100 km lunar orbit. The mission's objective is to place a lander and rover to the lunar surface and keep them there for around one lunar day, or about 14 Earth days. Just 26 kilos in weight, the rover will ride inside the lander and be equipped with tools for exploring the moon's surface.

ISRO conducts live streaming of Chandrayana-3 for the youth-leading generation to inspire and motivate students for future space exploration. Higher educational institutes were geared up to organise a special assembly of live streaming of the soft landing of ISRO’s Moon mission Chandrayaan-3.
IMI-BHUBANESWAR hosted an event to experience this achievement. The event encompassed the live telecast of Chandrayaan-3's soft landing on lunar surface. The IMI-Bhubaneswar family witnessed this momentous occasion of the successful landing of Vikarm on the Moon’s South Pole. After that IMI-BHUBANESWAR campus resonated with chants of "Bharat Mata ki jai", Bande Mataram", and "JAI HIND", Hundreds of students and faculty professionals erupted in joy. Students and faculty professionals raised spirited slogans in honour of ISRO scientists.
