Leadership Talk

Insignia, the HR Club of IMI Bhubaneswar organised a leadership talk on 11^th March 2023. IMI B was graced by the presence of Mr. Bimal Kumar Roul, Talent Acquisition Specialist at Tata Consultancy Services, Google Business Unit and Co-Founder- Choti Si Asha Foundation. Mr. Roul is a seasoned professional with over eight years of rich experience in data architecture & engineering and talent acquisition at Tata Consultancy Services. Mr. Roul addressed us regarding the true essence of leadership. He highlighted and discussed the important traits of a good leader which are; vision, inspiration, integrity, communication and adaptability to change. According to him, “A true leader always stands by his team and works together with them. He is an integral part of the team and shares the efforts needed to achieve a goal”. He advised us to focus on the broader scope of leadership rather than just management which is a minimal part of it. He discussed the journey of a management graduate from campus to the corporate world and advised us to keep on deepening our domain knowledge, progressively learn new skills, and always remain at par with the requirements of today’s corporate atmosphere. He also discussed the importance and benefits of LinkedIn as a social platform for professionals and highlighted it’s need by quoting “To be successful in professional life you do not need to know so many people but you need few right connections. That will create ladder to success in your life”. Lastly, Mr. Roul introduced us to Choti Si Asha Foundation which was Co-Founded by him. He enlightened us about the crucial role which the foundation played during the COVID-19 pandemic and after, in supporting the poor and needy and his humanitarian contributions to the cause of the foundation.

Mr. Bimal Kumar Roul is a true inspiration for the students as he is a dedicated professional and an embodiment of empathy. We got a glimpse of an exceptional human resources professional.
