NOSTALGIA

NOSTALGIA

In this month's Nostalgia section, we would like to introduce you to Shri Pooran Chandra Pandey who paid a visit to IMI Bhubaneswar in June 2015 for a Guest Lecture. He was invited by Prof. Supriti Mishra to give the students an overview on strategic philanthropy, sustainability, corporate social responsibility, and community development. Shri Pooran Chandra Pandey is currently serving as a Resident Representative at Climate Scorecard, Milton, US. Dr. Pandey was Executive Director, UN Global Compact Network, India at the time of his visit to IMI Bhubaneswar.

He explained how his experience working with governments, non-governmental organizations, the private sector, and the United Nations has provided him with a holistic view of critical issues and their implications for many shareholders and stakeholders, as well as the business world. His approach is to create a public-private partnership model in social development and community infrastructure, as well as the use of corporate communication to effectively promote corporate image.

Prior to his current engagement, he held senior leadership positions in leading non-profits, large corporations, and the world's largest media house, making significant contributions to the formulation of public policies in India and around the world on the voluntary sector, corporate social responsibility, sustainability, satellite accounting, volunteering, philanthropy, and social enterprises.

At last, it was evident that students of IMI Bhubaneswar gained enormously from his presence and were looking forward to such insightful sessions in the future.
