SIP EXPERIENCE- RESERVE BANK OF INDIA

Shatakshi Singh

Batch- PGDM20-22

I did my summer internship at Reserve Bank of India which is India’s central bank and regulatory body under the jurisdiction of Ministry of Finance, Government of India. I was placed as a finance intern through the campus placement process at IMI Bhubaneswar. For me working as an intern at RBI was indeed a matter of prestige. It was an enriching experience for me.

The duration of my internship was of 3 months and my location was Bhubaneswar. Talking about my internship I was allotted with two mentors at the organisation. Both of the mentors were very good at their respective positions, and both had astonishing personalities. Although I was in touch with both of them, I shared a better rapport with one of them for any kind of problems and suggestions related to my internship. This internship started with assigning me with the project title which I had to work on. The research topic was about the study of various modes which are available for paying the state tax for the state of Odisha and to find few feasible e-payment modes that can be added to the portal which will increase e-payments for the state.

My internship was completely work from home due to the sudden increase in the covid-19 pandemic. I was made to work on various topics like taxation policy for the state, analysing the current situation of their portal, studying the e-modes that are available under NPCI and emerging e-options that are booming in our country.

During my internship, I got constant support guidance and support from my corporate mentors which helped me to complete my work effectively. Also, my faculty guide extended her full support throughout my entire SIP. I would also like to appreciate the organisation and IMI Bhubaneswar for giving me this great opportunity to undergo this amazing journey of the summer internship.
