Dear Students,IMI Incubation Foundation has been organising various activities related to Entrepreneurship and supporting Startups since its inception. Apart from usual activities, last year Foundation conducted 10 Boot Camps on Design Thinking for School students across five districts of Odisha. Currently there are more than 10 startups working with us. Many of them are offering live projects to students which has good learning for them. Since last year Foundation also ventured into new areas. It got into various activities related to field of education and entrepreneurship which helps Foundation in numerous ways. Firstly, these activities enable us to reach out to large number of people across India thus creating awareness about Foundation. Second though these activities we try to benefit neglected sections of society by handholding and training them in business and entrepreneurship so that they can run enterprises successfully. These activities also help us to create skills which are required for today’s industry. New projects have increased our presence multifold. The allied activities include: -

 

Conducted financial literacy programs sponsored by Security and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on ‘Commodity Derivatives’ under its Investors Education and Protection Fund. Trainings were imparted to students of agriculture sciences & farmers groups for turmeric and industry for aluminium. Both commodities are traded on exchange. It helps participants discover price and hedge their risk. We completed 5 trainings last year across different districts. Participants included farmers group in Kandhamal and employees of Vedanta Ltd at Jharsuguda. IMI Incubation Foundation is now an empanelled trainer with SEBI for Commodity Derivatives Training.

 

Mutual Fund Agents Training and Certification (NISM Series VA) for graduate above 24 years or anyone who is a registered agent with any insurance company (without any qualification and age constraint) in collaboration with Banking and Financial Services Industry - Skill Council of India (BFSI – SSC) under Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship for upskilling people and creating micro enterprises in Mutual Fund Industry. A total of 65 students were imparted free training in two batches. Many IMI students have been benefitted by this program.

 

Conducted a review of NABARD sponsored Off Farm Producer Organization (OFPO) in Odisha. This included 10 clusters relating to Handloom, Handicrafts (Sabai Grass), Terracotta products, Dokra & Black Dokra Arts etc supported by NABARD across 9 districts. Also invited for conducting an impact assessment of NABARD Micro Enterprise Development Program and Livelihood Enterprise Development Program in Odisha.

 

Applied for various project under Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of traditional Industries (SFURTI) Scheme of Ministry of MSME, Government of India for creating grassroot level entrepreneurship for artisans and farmers. We are working in states of Odisha, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh. Projects relate to reviving Bamboo Cluster and Tassar handloom Clusters. Each cluster has more than 500 beneficiaries from backward rural areas benefiting the most neglected sections of the society and trying to increase their income multifold.

 

Recently empanelled with NCDEX for conducting Investors Awareness Program for college students and police officials.

 

Foundation invites your participation in various activities it conducts from time to time. Some of these may be directly beneficial to you such as NISM VA certification, IAP of NCDEX, live projects from startups including Alums etc while some will offer you a great learning experience such as working with IMI Foundation for DPR preparation etc. Looking forward for working with you.
