Independence Day

Bhubaneswar, August 15, 2023 – The International management institute (IMI) Bhubaneswar campus was filled with a sense of national pride and unity as the institution celebrated the 77th Independence Day of India with passion and enthusiasm. The event, organized by the college administration and cultural committee, showcased a variety of activities that not only celebrated the spirit of freedom but also highlighted the importance of companionship and environmental responsibility.

The ceremony commenced with the hoisting of the national flag by the esteemed Director of IMI Bhubaneswar, Prof. Ramesh Behl. The flag not only symbolized the nation's freedom but also awakened a sense of pride and responsibility among the faculty, staff, and students gathered to witness the event. One of the highlights of the event was the special award ceremony of academic achievers. As a token of appreciation for their outstanding performance, a special award was presented to the top-ranking student. As tradition of our institute, the junior batch took part in a tree plantation drive on the campus premises.

The cultural performance that followed was a true reflection of India's diverse heritage. The campus came alive with traditional dance, from vibrant group dances to melodious group singing, Skit highlighting religious unity, this cultural event truly mesmerized the audience. Adding a unique twist, the faculty members showcased their musical talents by coming together to form a faculty band, fascinating everyone with their talent.

For sports enthusiasts, the day offered thrilling cricket matches that united both the academic and corporate worlds. The first match between YES Bank and college faculty not only strengthened corporate-college relations but also demonstrated the importance of sportsmanship and teamwork. The sports committee of IMI Bhubaneswar also organised the friendly cricket match between the senior and junior batches, which witnessed aggressive yet friendly competition. The day culminated in a grand celebratory lunch, reflecting the essence of unity and togetherness that Independence Day embodies.
